Taika Waititi’s Star Wars Film Reportedly Eyeing Early 2023 Start Date

Taika Waititi’s upcoming Star Wars film was initially said to be in the very early stages of development. The newsletter reports that the project is eyeing “an early 2023 start,” per multiple sources. While this doesn’t signify a release date, it does seem to be further along than what other reports — and even Waititi himself — have said in the past.Recently, Waititi said that he hadn’t been working much on the film as of yet and that it definitely wouldn’t start this year due to his work on other projects including Our Flag Means Death and Time Bandits. This led many to believe that the project was still years away. A planned trilogy from Rian Johnson had also been announced but seems to be on the backburner as of now.
