Nickelodeon Reveals Characters for First Avatar Animated Film

Nickelodeon and Paramount Animation have finally revealed the first details about the upcoming untitled animated film from Avatar Studios, which will be the first animated movie based on the world of the popular series Avatar: The Last Airbender.The first Avatar film will officially be set years after the third season finale of the original series. It will once again center around Aang and his friends, who will be returning as young adults. The first film will be directed by Lauren Montgomery. Avatar co-creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are producing alongside Eric Coleman, and the film will be produced under Avatar Studios.In the series, the world is divided into four nations — the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads — each represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. Benders have the ability to control and manipulate the element of their nation. Only the Avatar is the master of all four elements. The ruthless Fire Nation wants to conquer the world, but the only bender who has enough power to stop them, the Avatar, has disappeared … until now.
