Chris Hemsworth Reveals How Long He’ll Play Thor in the MCU

In a previous interview back in 2020, Chris Hemsworth revealed that he doesn’t see Thor: Love and Thunder as his retirement movie as the God of Thunder. Now, in a recent interview with AP, Hemsworth is once again asked about his Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future ahead of the upcoming release of Taika Waititi’s next Thor sequel. The Australian blockbuster star went on to reaffirm his commitment to the MCU, revealing that he wants to keep playing Thor until the studio and fans say otherwise.“I love the experience, and I have from day one,” Hemsworth said. “Each time I’ve been asked back I’ve said ‘Absolutely let’s go.’ I’ve been lucky to have different directors and writers and cast to also inject different stories and energy into the films. Until the audience, the fans, the Marvel gods say, ‘No, we’ve had enough,’ then I’ll keep showing up. I love it. It’s good fun.”Chris Hemsworth says he’ll keep playing Thor “until the audience … or the Marvel gods say ‘No, we’ve had enough.” pic.twitter.com/4m1dJI5cZW— AP Entertainment (@APEntertainment) July 1, 2022RELATED: Thor: Love and Thunder Clips Feature Thor Trying to Summon MjolnirThor: Love and Thunder features MCU alums Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who is now taking on the mantle of the Mighty Thor and will be wielding the iconic Mjolnir. Oscar winner Christian Bale will also be making his return to the superhero genre, as he signs on for the villainous role of Gorr the God Butcher.“The fourth installment finds Thor on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace.
