A Quiet Place Prequel and IF Get Delayed, New Release Dates Set

Paramount Pictures has officially changed the release dates for two of its highly-anticipated movies including Jeff Nichols’ horror prequel spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One and John Krasinski’s fantasy comedy titled IF. Its new theatrical release date will pit the film against no direct competition, but it will be debuting in the same month as two high-profile films Godzilla vs. Kong 2 and Spider: Beyond The Spider-Verse.The film, which is directed by Michael Sarnoski of Pig fame, will depict the arrival of the blind aliens that have fully taken over the world first envisioned by John Krasinski in the 2018 original. A Quiet Place 2 shook up the tone of the horror franchise with a thrilling scene that showed the chaos of the early days of the invasion. Day One will further expand on this concept while also shifting the perspective beyond the Abbott family that the main series follows.RELATED: Amazon’s John Krasinski-Led Series Jack Ryan Ending with Season 4The theatrical release date for IF has been moved from November 17, 2023, to May 24, 2024, which will see the film go up against Warner Bros. Pictures’ Mad Max: Fury prequel Furiosa. The film will be written and directed by John Krasinski, based on his original idea about a child’s journey in rediscovering their imagination. It stars Krasinski, Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fiona Shaw, Alan Kim, Cailey Fleming, and Louis Gossett Jr.
